Optimise e-shop for search engines

With accurate descriptions and details, you can make your IONOS Online Shop easier to find via search engines. Here we show you how to optimise pages and products for search engines.

Optimise pages for search engines

Log in to your IONOS account log in.
In the title bar, click on Menu > Websites & shops.
Optional: Select the desired website.
Click on Manage website.
On the Manage and edit your e-shop page, click Manage e-shop.
In the administration interface, select Content in the left-hand menu.
Here you will find all existing content elements of your IONOS Online Shop - categories as well as content pages. To optimise a category or content page for search engines, click on the cogwheel symbol in the left-hand menu bar behind the corresponding entry.
In the Page settings window that opens, click on Edit behind the Search engine entry entry.
Under Page title , assign a catchy name that will be displayed to your customers in the browser tab. You have up to 70 characters available for this.
Under Meta description , enter a text of up to 320 characters that will appear in your customers' search engine results. We recommend using strong keywords here.
Accept your entries by clicking on Save.

Optimise products for search engines

Carry out steps 1 to 5 from the section Optimising pages for search engines in this article.
In the administration interface, select the Products entry in the left-hand menu.
Click on the article number of the corresponding article.
On the product page, select the last item Search engine entry .
Under Page title , enter a title of up to 70 characters that will be displayed in the search engine results.
Under Meta description , add a description of the product of up to 320 characters, which will be displayed in the search engine result. We recommend using keywords that are as catchy as possible and under which the product can be found.
Save your entries by clicking on Save.
