Valid for Online Shops ordered from 2017 onwards.

With different payment methods, you enable your customers to pay with numerous services, e.g. credit card or PayPal. This article explains how to add a payment method to your IONOS Online Shop .

Set up payment method

  • Log in to your IONOS account.

  • In the title bar, click on Menu > Websites & shops.
    Optional: Select the desired website.

  • Click on Manage website.
  • On the Project Guidance Dashboard, in the left-hand menu click on My Shop .
  • Click on Payment under Configuration in the Shop menu that opens.
    Please note: Prepayment, invoice, cash on delivery, and cash payment are already entered as system defaults. If you do not want to offer a payment method, click on it and either click on the Visibility  entry and then on Switch to invisible, or click on the trash can symbol next to the Visibility entry to delete it.
  • Under Add new payment methods you will already find the most common payment methods such as PayPal and Stripe. If you want to set up a different payment method, scroll down to More options to accept online payments and click on Choose Payment Method and select the payment method you want to set up from the overall view, then follow the respective steps to set up the corresponding payment provider.
  • If you have not yet completed setting up the payment provider, you can do this at any time by clicking on Connect and Enable in order to establish the connection to the respective payment provider, and follow the corresponding instructions.
