Consent mode (Google Consent Mode) for IONOS website projects

Valid for MyWebsite Now, MyWebsite Creator and MyWebsite.

Anyone who works with Google Ads and processes data of users from the EU must transmit the consent of this group of people to Google. This article provides information on how to submit this consent using a consent banner when using an IONOS website builder solution.

Note

  • If you do not fulfil the requirements of Google Ads, it is still possible to use Google Ads. Only special features of Google Ads are not available to you.

  • In principle, there are no restrictions on the normal operation of your website.

Background to the change

Google's requirement in the form of consent applies to all website operators who place advertisements and use them to direct visitors to their website. Website operators that display Google Ads are not affected.

Google provides further information in the form of a help article and a YouTube video. For subtitles in your language, click on the gear icon (Settings) > Subtitles in the video player.
