Working with Files in Managed Nextcloud

In this article, we'll show you how you can share and collaborate on files with other users or groups within your Managed Nextcloud.
Uploading Files
To upload files to your Managed Nextcloud:
- Log in to your Managed Nextcloud.
- Click the folder icon in the top menu bar. An overview of your existing folders and files is displayed.
- Click the plus icon. A context menu appears.
- Select Upload File to upload a local file to your Managed Nextcloud.
Use the New Folder option to structure your Managed Nextcloud file storage. Please note that the New Text Document option creates an MD file. This is a text-only document that can be formatted using Markdown elements.
File Sharing
To share a file in your Managed Nextcloud:
- Log in to your Managed Nextcloud.
- Click the folder icon in the top menu bar. An overview of your existing folders and files is displayed.
- Click the share icon in the row of the file you want to share. A palette appears on the right side of the screen.
- Type the name of a user or group in the search field of the palette. Each character further narrows down the applicable users or groups.
- Click the user or group you want to share the file with. The share is granted and the users are notified by email.
If you want to revoke sharing at a later time, click the three-dot icon next to the user or group name in the Sharing view of the palette. Click Cancel Sharing to remove access.
