Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Managed Nextcloud

Enhance your Managed Nextcloud with AI functionalities, such as text generation. This article explains how to install, set up, and use the necessary app from OpenAI.

Requirements

Managed Nextcloud OpenAI Integration
OpenAI API Key (account with OpenAI required)

Installing the OpenAI Integration

Log in to your Managed Nextcloud as an administrator as described in the Help Center article Logging in to Managed Nextcloud.
In the top Managed Nextcloud menu bar, click the circle icon in the top-right corner with your profile photo or the first letter of your username to select the Apps context menu.
In the left margin menu, under Integration > OpenAI and LocalAI Integration, click the Download and Enable button.
In the top Managed Nextcloud menu bar, click again on the circle icon with your profile photo or the first letters of your user name to select Administration Settings in the context menu.
Using the menu in the left margin under Administration > Connected Accounts, enter the OpenAI API Key in the field provided.
Select the desired ChatGPT language model and the available functions.

Using the AI Functionalities

General text fields:

To use AI functionalities in text-based entries, type a slash ( / ). A list box appears where you can select the available AI functionalities.

Collabra/Nextcloud Office:

Within Collabra or Nextcloud Office, you insert AI functionalities via Insert > Smart Picker. A window opens in which you can influence the result of the AI support via various setting options.
