For Dedicated Servers with Linux or Windows Server operating systems
This article explains how to connect to the serial console of your server via SSH client PuTTY.
With the serial console you can connect to your Dedicated Server even if it is not accessible via the normal network interface.
Prerequisite
You have noted your serial console username and password.
Start PuTTY.
For Host Name, enter sercon.onlinehome-server.info
For Connection Type, select SSH.
Click Open.
When you log in for the first time, a warning message will appear because PuTTy does not yet know the key of the SSH server. Click YES to continue establishing the connection.
The connection is now established and the console window will open.Log in with your user name and password.
You are now connected to the serial console of your Dedicated Server and can log in to the server on the command line (if the server is ready).
To learn how to work with the serial console, read the Rescue and Recovery in the Help Center.
