Creating an API Key
For Cloud Servers and Dedicated Servers managed in the Cloud Panel
To communicate with the API, you have to authenticate yourself with an API key. How to activate the API key:
- Log in to your IONOS account.
Click Menu > Server & Cloud in the title bar.
Optional: Select the desired Server & Cloud contract.The Cloud Panel opens.
Click Management > User in the navigation bar on the left.
Select the desired user.
Click on the pencil icon in the section API.
Click Yes.
Click Apply changes.
Optional: Assign an IP address to the API.
Note
If you assign an IP address to the API, the API can only be accessed via this defined IP address.
Click on Show in the section API keys.
THe API key is displayed.
