This article provides an overview of the features included by default in Cloud Backup, as well as additional features available as part of paid extensions.

Basic Functions

Cloud Backup contains features that protect you from most cyber security threats by default. You can use these at no additional cost. An overview of the features included by default is listed below:

IONOS currently offers various packages for Cloud Backup in combination with additional paid add-ons. These are listed below:

Extension: Security Plus

This extension is included in the Plus, Premium and Ultimate packages and includes the following features:

  • Real-time antivirus and anti-malware protection
  • Enhanced local, signature-based threat detection
  • Secure recovery
  • Exploit protection
  • URL filtering
  • Forensic backups
  • Simplified Endpoint Security (can detect suspicious or malicious activity on a workload and generate incidents if necessary. Incidents chronicle the potentially malicious activity and establish correlations between them to enable root cause analysis).
  • Malware scans
  • Intelligent backup plans
  • Enterprise-wide allowlisting
  • Windows Defender Antivirus
Extension: Management Plus

This extension is included in the Premium and Ultimate packages. The following features are included:

  • Active protection
  • Automated patch management
  • Fail-safe patching (automatically creating device backups before installing a patch)
  • Disk Health Monitoring (displays the status and estimated EOL of SSD and HDD drives)
  • Software inventory
  • Scheduled reporting
  • Constant security checks (analyses and assesses vulnerabilities in Windows and Linux-based systems)
Extension: Backup Plus

This extension is included in the Ultimate package and includes the following features:

  • Continuous data protection (CDP)
  • Backup mapping
  • SAP HANA
  • Oracle DB
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MS Exchange cluster backups
