Valid for IONOS Website Checker
A Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a network of servers designed to deliver content such as images, videos, stylesheets, and JavaScript files to users quickly and reliably. This article explains which conditions must be met for the website checker to recognise a CDN in use.
Time delay due to DNS change
When the CDN is activated, the DNS settings of the website are adjusted. Due to the way the DNS system works, it can take up to 24 hours before the adjustments are active everywhere and recognised by the Website Checker.
If the Website Checker does not recognise the CDN even after 24 hours, make sure that the CDN is activated for the correct domain.
Check domain mapping
The IONOS CDN is active for subdomains (e.g. www.example-domain.co.uk). In order for your website to benefit from the CDN, it must be accessible under a subdomain - ideally under www.example-domain.co.uk.
If your website redirects from www.example-domain.co.uk to your-domain.com, you must deactivate this redirect in order to benefit from the advantages of the CDN.
