This article explains how to set up an email account manually in Mozilla Thunderbird 102.12.0.

Requirements
You have created an IONOS email address.
You have Mozilla Thunderbird installed on your computer.
Open Mozilla Thunderbird.
In the navigation bar on the left, click Local Folders.
In the Set Up Another Account section, click Email.
Enter your name, email address and password .
Please do not enter a new password here, but use the password you entered when setting up the email address at IONOS. Forgot your password?
Click Configure manually.
To configure your account for the IONOS email servers, you need the following settings:

To retrieve your emails via POP3, you need the following information for the incoming mail server:

In the Incoming server section, in the Protocol list, select either the IMAP or POP3 protocol. IMAP is recommended.
In the Hostname field, enter the server address of the incoming mail server. This is listed above.
In the Port field, type the required port for the incoming mail server. If you selected the IMAP protocol, enter the port 993. If you selected the POP3 protocol, enter port 995.
In the Incoming Server section, select SSL/TLS in the Connection Security list.
In the Authentication method list, select Normal password.
In the User Name field, enter your full email address if it was not already entered automatically.
In the Outgoing server section, in the Host name field, type the server address of the outgoing server.
In the Port field, type port 465.
In the Connection security list, select SSL/TLS.
In the Authentication method list, select Normal password.
In the Username field, enter your full email address if necessary.
Click Done.
Click Exit.
Your account is now set up. To check your email, click Inbox in the navigation bar on the left.
