Popular games with a dedicated server
There are several games that benefit from having their own (dedicated) server — from survival horror titles like ‘7 Days to Die’ to pixel adventures like ‘Terraria’. Depending on the game, there are different requirements and steps you need to follow to create your server.

7 Days to Die
The open-world game 7 Days to Die is one of the most popular survival games. The aim is to fight your way through a zombie-infested world in a first-person perspective by crafting weapons, upping your skills and much more. The multiplayer survival mode offers a very varied gaming experience.

ARK: Survival Evolved
The game ARK: Survival Evolved, released in 2017, is set on a primeval island where users clash with dinosaurs of various species. These giants can be fought, captured or used to ride around the world. In the game you can explore nine different biomes, alone or with other players. There are also various expansion packs, such as Ark: Genesis and Ark: Scorched Earth.

Arma 3
Arma 3 is a military game by Bohemia Interactive, released in 2013. Gamers handle a warlike conflict on the Greek islands of Altis and Stratis. Various weapons, vehicles and practical items like a medikit are used and offer diverse gameplay possibilities. In its multiplayer mode you can work with others in missions or compete against each other.

Arma Reforger
Another military simulation game currently still in its Early Access phase (as of January 2023) is Arma Reforger, the new kid on the block. This game, which uses the new Enfusion Engine, sends gamers as soldiers to the island territories of Arland and Everon. Unlike the rest of the Arma games, Arma Reforger doesn’t have a single-player campaign and focuses entirely on the multiplayer experience.

Assetto Corsa Competizione
Assetto Corsa Competizione is a racing simulation game in which you’ll compete in car races in single and multiplayer modes. In ATLAS you’ll be immersed in a pirate world where you’ll be able to create your own crew and travel the seas on your ship. Experience battles on the water or explore different islands that may conceal treasure. Your ship’s crew can be made up of NPCs as well as other players – together you’ll traverse the extensive open-world map. There is an official ATLAS community.

Conan Exiles
In Conan Exiles gamers are transported to the realms of Conan the Barbarian. The multiplayer survival game offers you the possibility to fight, explore and craft items. A particularly interesting aspect is the feature of the conquest and defense of your own land. If you want to expand the base game, you can do so by buying add-on content such as ‘People of the Dragon Pack’ and ‘Riders of Hyboria Pack’.

Core Keeper

CS:GO
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, also known by its short form ‘CS:GO’, is an action shooter game where you can prove your (strategic) fighting skills alone or in a team. Choose from a variety of weapons, character skins, game modes and much more. There are even professional CS:GO tournaments that have been held for over two decades and are followed by a large fan base.

The broadband requirements are also an important factor. Steam publisher Valve, for example, has specified 53.4 Kbit/s per player as an upload guideline for a CS:GO server.
DayZ
The sandbox game DayZ by Bohemia Interactive involves a world that is infested by a zombie virus. Players must ensure their survival by collecting items, hunting animals and using weapons to fight off the infected. Up to 60 people per server work either with or against each other.

Eco
Eco focuses on sustainability, allowing players to act alone or join forces with others to build a life in a fragile ecosystem and live in harmony with nature. Factorio

Garry’s Mod
Unlike other games, there is no fixed game goal to achieve in Garry’s Mod. Build and use things as you please. Even human characters can be placed and visually customised. You can also try out a variety of game modes. These include, for example, the multiplayer mode ‘Zombie Survival’, in which gamers have to survive together. If you get bitten, you transform and can take revenge as a zombie.

Last Oasis
